Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

This policy explains how busyplayer.com uses first-party cookies and browser storage. The site remains usable when optional analytics cookies are rejected.

Essential preference

Name Purpose Retention
cookie_consent Remembers whether optional analytics cookies were accepted or rejected. This preference is necessary so the site does not ask on every page. 180 days

Optional analytics cookies

These first-party cookies are created only after you choose Accept analytics. They contain the value 1, do not identify an account, and are not shared with a third-party analytics provider.

Name Purpose Retention
stats_entry Records that the current measurement sequence began with an external entry. 30 minutes, extended during activity
stats_productive Prevents more than one productive internal transition from being counted in the same sequence. 30 minutes, extended during activity

Cookieless aggregate statistics

The server continues to increment aggregate counters such as page views, entries, internal transitions, search referrals, and bot traffic without optional cookies. Statistics are grouped by time, page path, coarse country code, referring host, browser, platform, and device type. The statistics tables do not store raw IP addresses, raw user-agent strings, or individual request logs. The productive-transition metric is recorded only when analytics cookies are accepted.

Session cookie

Pages that require a PHP session, such as the contact form, may create a first-party PHP session cookie with an application-generated name. It supports form security and expires after one hour. Public catalogue pages do not start this session solely for statistics.

Local browser storage

  • gasper-handed-mode remembers a user-selected left- or right-handed layout preference.
  • site_rating_voted_<site id> remembers that a rating was submitted from the browser and helps prevent duplicate voting UI.

These values are stored in local storage rather than cookies and are created only after the related user action.

Third-party websites

Links may take you to third-party websites with their own privacy and cookie practices. The default site configuration described here does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. Optional third-party providers must not be enabled without updating the consent controls and this policy.

Change your choice

You can reopen the controls at any time. Rejecting optional cookies immediately clears the analytics state cookies from this site.
